The Arts Council along with other Cultural District members encourage Fort Worth residents to support local organizations this holiday season! Meetup at the Carter for anticipated exhibitions, our 60th Birthday Bash, artist talks, art-connecting activities, and more on Saturday, September 25. Plus, two new exhibitions Anila Quayyum Agha: A Beautiful Despair and Imagined Realism: Scott and Stuart Gentling debut. Buddha, Shiva, Lotus, Dragon: The Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection at Asia Society  

Through September 5, 2021 

Buddha, Shiva, Lotus, Dragon presents nearly 70 of the finest examples of Asian art in the United States. Showcasing an extraordinary range of bronzes, ceramics and metalwork, this exhibition reveals great achievements in Asian art spanning more than two millennia.

Sean Scully: The Shape of Ideas 

June 20, 2021 - October 10, 2021 

Sean Scully: The Shape of Ideas, organized by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, features the artist’s most significant works and examines his contribution to the development of abstraction over a span of nearly five decades. The exhibition highlights the close relationship between the artist’s paintings, drawings, prints, and pastels, which are rarely shown together. The Shape of Ideas presents 49 paintings and 42 works on paper that reflect the many phases of a long and varied approach to artmaking.

Twelve Mighty Orphans – Behind the Scenes: Laura Wilson 

Through August 8 

Twelve Mighty Orphans – Behind the Scenes: Laura Wilson will be on display at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame! This exhibition showcases 2019 Cowgirl Honoree Laura Wilson and props from the new film by Sony Pictures Classics, 12 Mighty Orphans. This is a partnership with the Fort Worth Film Commission, a division of Visit Fort Worth.

Dallas-based artist Jen Rose crafts tiny sculpture that is not only beautiful, it helps equally tiny pollinators as they go about their work of supporting plants and our ecosystems.
