A Play in Two Acts by Seth Freeman
Presented by Proper Hijinx Productions
Featuring Natalie Burkhart, Cynthia Summers, Angel Somarriba, Christian Black, Gina Gowtz, Megan Guerra, and Josuê Summers
"The play explores how we decide what the things in our world are worth – our possessions, but also the parts of our bodies, and even our lives. Is there a price at which you would sell your car or your home? Thousands of dollars, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands? Would you ever sell your dog? At what price? What if someone offered you a million dollars for a part of your body, a finger, say, or a kidney? Would you sell a body part for tens of millions of dollars? Hundreds of millions? Tune into the reading of Fair Trade for some surprising answers." -Seth Freeman
Author Bio
Seth Freeman graduated in 2019 with a Master's degree from UCLA's Fielding School of Public Health, which may seem somewhat removed from the world of the stage - although relevant in a time of a worldwide pandemic - but in fact the main thrust of his work has been, is now, and will always be the theater along with other forms of writing and entertainment. There have been numerous productions and readings of his plays in the U.S, and around the world. In addition to writing for the stage he writes for print (The New York Times, Southern Theatre Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Hill, The Los Angeles Times, California Magazine, Stars and Stripes, YaleGlobal, etc.) and has also written short films and written and produced for television. he dedicates non-writing time to organizations focused on health care, education, the empowerment of women and human rights.
