Kirsten Maiwald began her artistic path at UNT, where a formative experience working with youth inspired her to shift from graphic design to art education. After 30 years teaching in North Texas, she continues her work through Inspired by Optimism, partnering with communities and organizations to use visual art as a catalyst for connection, growth, and positive change.
