Emi Matsushita, Youth Summit – Careers in the Arts Panel

Emi L. Matsushita is a movement artist, educator, and creative entrepreneur with over 28 years of global experience across hip hop, contemporary, and street/club dance cultures. She blends scientific inquiry with artistic expression, holding an MFA in Dance Science from Trinity Laban in London, where she researched hip-hop dance battle culture and community practices. Emi serves as Chair of Art Boost Dallas, leading arts entrepreneurship initiatives while partnering with local organizations to co-create a dynamic and connected arts ecosystem. As faculty at the University of North Texas and Dallas College, she champions movement as a tool for healing, leadership, and creative empowerment. Through her embodied entrepreneurship coaching, Emi helps artists build sustainable careers rooted in authenticity, impact, and creativity.
