It’s about time: Dedication of City public art display is Oct. 18

If public art is a dialogue, then the newest addition to the City’s collection is driving the conversation — quite literally — as a two-way street.

“Unfolding Time,” a new permanent site-specific exhibition along Marine Creek Parkway will be formally dedicated on Saturday, Oct. 18, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Fort Worth Public Library, Northwest Branch.

The conversational aspect within the work was a main goal of this project, said Project Manager Michelle Richardson.

“Marine Creek Parkway offered a unique site with two roundabouts, leading to the opportunity for a curatorial approach to the project,” she said. “The curator’s challenge was to invite two artists to create sculptures that maintained a presence individually while also being in dialogue with one another.”

Curator Iris Bechtol and featured artists Leticia Bajuyo and Alicia Eggert accomplished that in spades. All three will be present at the dedication and available for questions after the program…
