“More public art projects are on their way to visually enhance communities in Fort Worth.
Council members approved $784,059 in commission contracts for the development of three art installations in the north and far east regions of the city during a June 10 meeting.
The projects will be overseen by Fort Worth Public Art, a program managed by Arts Fort Worth and advised by the Fort Worth Art Commission, which aims to enhance community identities within the city.
The public art process begins with project initiation before moving on to artist selection, preliminary design, final design, fabrication, installation and dedication.
The projects are expected to be completed in spring 2026 in two City Council districts.
‘Each artwork really brings its own angle to the city,’ said Michelle Richardson, project manager with Fort Worth Public Art. ‘There are so many communities that have different perspectives on various things and that all comes out in these public art projects. Every project is looking toward an exciting future for Fort Worth.'”
