10 Years of Public Art

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, Fort Worth Public Art (FWPA) has commissioned 28 works in locations throughout the city ranging from murals to sculptures to infrastructure enhancements all thanks to the City of Fort Worth's investment of 2% of capital budgets. The resulting visual impact to our urban environment not only enriches our citizens' lives, but also promotes tourism and economic development. Managed by the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County and with oversight of the Fort Worth Art Commission, FWPA strives for artistic excellence and meaningful community involvement. In 2011, accolades include Historic Fort Worth's Preservation Award for the Al Hayne Monument restoration project and Fort Worth Weekly's Best of Public Art Critic's Choice Award for Night Song on the Rolling Hills Radio Tower. FWPA continues to build momentum with some 50 ongoing and new public art projects underway in 2012! For more information visit www.fwpublicart.org.

A Decade for the
Community Arts Center

Has it really been 10 years? Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012, The Community Arts Center celebrates its heritage as a place where both children and adults can immerse themselves in creativity. The 77,000 square foot facility offers a unique setting for meetings, visual and performing arts, and elegant receptions. Showcasing both local and regional artists, the Community Arts Center Galleries rotate every month; free admission and the ability to purchase the works of art distinguish the Community Arts Center from its peer institutions.

2011 also saw hundreds of performances in the W. E. Scott Theatre and the Hardy and Betty Sanders Theatre! For more information visit www.fwcac.com
